"The process begins with color. Recurrent images of a particular hue tease the subconscious over an indefinite period of time, and from there, the palette begins to develop for my next piece.
I tend to be drawn toward landscape themes, as I find that nature is quite alluring, ranging from the mystical to the exhilarating. My work references places and spaces I've experienced, or may simply develop freely from the imagination. I like to think that I am creating a unique atmosphere for the viewer to enter, a space where one might sense or connect with an emotion I've felt while painting, or follow an impulse to let one's thoughts take them wherever they choose to travel."
